Mothers
To hold to breast
Thy babe in arms
Eyes locked
One to the other
A moment extended
Forever in birth
Eternity's child
Eternal mother
So close to hold
That spark so dear
In a moment gone
Yet forever near
No mouth can say
Nor mind express
A mothers love
Has no redress
As he that givith
And taketh away
Such bittersweet blessing
Brooks no delay
Yet she abides
Gods beckon call
Knowing her son
Lies still
To know is not
To understand
Though subject
To gods will
No mouth can say
Nor mind express
A mother's pain
Has no redress
That life she carried
Is not undone
This mothers son is now on high
The one who believes in me shall live
Even though they die
To hold to breast
Thy babe in arms
Eyes locked
One to the other
A moment extended
Forever in birth
Eternity's child
Eternal mother
So close to hold
That spark so dear
In a moment gone
Yet forever near
No mouth can say
Nor mind express
A mothers love
Has no redress
As he that givith
And taketh away
Such bittersweet blessing
Brooks no delay
Yet she abides
Gods beckon call
Knowing her son
Lies still
To know is not
To understand
Though subject
To gods will
No mouth can say
Nor mind express
A mother's pain
Has no redress
That life she carried
Is not undone
This mothers son is now on high
The one who believes in me shall live
Even though they die
